Static Var Generator (SVG)

A Static Var Generator (SVG) is an electronic reactive power compensation system for capacitive and inductive power. It has the same operating principle as an active filter; the SVG injects a current in the opposite direction to counteract the installation's non-useful inductive and capacitive power.

Our Static Var Generator (SVG) detects load current through an external current transducer (CT) simultaneously and analyzes the reactive component of load current by DSP controller, then generates PWM signal to IGBT inverter to generate reactive current and compensates load reactive current to meet the target of line power factor.

SVG has the advantages of fast response and high compensation accuracy without under- or over-compensation problems.

Operational Principle:

The static VAR generator (SVG) detects the load current in real time through an control transformer (CT), and analyzes the reactive content of the load current through internal DSP calculation, and then controls the PWM signal generator to send a control signal to the internal IGBT according to the set value to make the inverter generate reactive compensation current that meets the requirements, ultimately achieving the purpose of dynamic reactive compensation, and at the same time has a certain harmonic compensation capability.
